Hi! My name is Jasmin Roque and I am the owner of Wags and Whiskers LLC. I was born and raised on the island of Maui. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and in 2014 I had the opportunity to begin working more closely with them when I was hired at the Maui Humane Society as an Animal Care Attendant. During that time, I discovered a strong passion for animal behavior, which led me to attend Animal Behavior College. I graduated with honors in 2016.
Throughout my time at the Maui Humane Society, I was fortunate to work in a variety of roles. I began in the Animal Care Department, then joined the Veterinary Department, later moved to the Behavior Team as the Behavior & Training (B&T) Enrichment Coordinator, and most recently worked with the Outreach (Outcomes) Department as Transfer Coordinator. These diverse roles allowed me to develop a wide range of skills and gain extensive hands-on experience.
In addition to my previous time at the Maui Humane Society, I worked for nearly two years at CMAC as an emergency veterinary technician, primarily during overnight emergency shifts, further expanding my experience in high-pressure medical settings.
While working full-time, I also began pet sitting on the side and quickly found it to be another passion of mine. Building meaningful relationships with both animals and their humans has been incredibly fulfilling. After deciding to step away from the Maui Humane Society, I chose to put my skills and passion to use by starting my own business—Wags and Whiskers LLC.
Our Mission is to help build lasting bonds between pets and their families by offering the same comfort, care, and love we’d give our own. We believe every animal is special and deserves compassion, understanding, and gentle attention tailored to their unique personality. Our goal is to make every tail wag, purr, and happy snuggle a reminder of how much they’re loved.
